Dr. Michael Owen Gardner Recognized for Excellence in Higher Education
Dr. Michael Owen Gardner noted for invaluable contributions at University of Oklahoma-Tulsa
TULSA, OK, June 11, 2009 /Post Graduate PR News/ -- Dr. Michael Owen Gardner, Chairman of the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of higher education.
With 24 years of professional experience, Dr. Gardner is responsible for overseeing clinical and administrative duties, working with high risk pregnancies and deliveries, managing the obstetrical diabetes clinic, conducting ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis, attending to deliveries, overseeing employees, budgeting and teaching medical students and residents. His research was in cost and decision analysis. He goes to Mexico and lectures in Spanish on obstetrics. He is also a chairman for several committees, department committees and executive committees for medical schools and attributes his success to his hard work, sense of vision and the support he receives from his mentors.
Dr. Gardner completed his fellowship in maternal fetal medicine and received a Master's Degree in Public Health, with a concentration in Health Policy in 1995, at The University of Alabama. In 1985, he received his MD, from Texas Tech University. He received academic honors rom the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. Dr. Gardner is a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Physician Executives.
